You are now able to craft the top two Alpha Slot Abilities.
Also, the Task Force of the Week is the LRSF/STF.
And in further news...Ninja Run has a new power tray icon!

Well, Warp did want to try Bateman's new build against Cheater Recluse. Now is your chance.
I have three characters right now who will be going for their Very Rare alpha power, so I've got some work cut out for me...

Oh goddamnit.
So after hearing what they were doing, I thought you'd be able to use shards to convert to the new salvage too, but apparently not.
Now they're forcing you to run these TFs or the week to get notices of the well. And I'm not even sure if they all give you them at the end, or if it's a chance thing, or if it's an imperius TF only thing.
So freaking stupid...So now if the TF of the week turns out to be a crappy TF you can't really do (Like STF for us) we're screwed out of getting rare/very rare alphas for another week?

So the details of this are pretty simple. For the weekly TF, you get a "Notice of the Well" for completing it once per week. It takes one Notice of the Well to make a Rare alpha power, but multiple of these to make a "Favor of the Well", which is used to make the Very Rare alpha power. So it will be a few weeks at least before anyone has the Very Rare, but we'll see people level shifting as early as today.
Edit: We're more than capable of doing STF. We just need to be properly prepared for it. Jack is more than capable of tanking it, and once Bateman's build is done, I have no doubt he'll be able to tank it as well. I also have an Invuln/SS tanker, not yet IO'd, who will be able to tank it once built.

Only one per week? That's even worse. The game is becoming more and more like WoW with it's item grinding >_>

Only one per week? That's even worse. The game is becoming more and more like WoW with it's item grinding >_> With WoW, it's endless item grind. You grind for epics, so that you can grind for more epics, so you can grind for more epics... In City of Heroes, you "grind" for your rare/very rare alpha powers ONCE and then you're done. No more working on powers unless for some reason you want more very rare alpha powers. And really, there's no comparison between 4 nights per week, 4 hours per night of wiping on the same boss over and over and over again or doing a walk-in-the-park TF once per week for 1-2 hours.

I haven't done a STF in ages. I tanked it once and that was a blast. Ghost Widow was a beeeyotch.
Jack versus Recluse would be fun to watch.

Let's just hope we can start getting in these weekly TFs more often, then.
Cause I know I'm not touching PuGs doing a weekly TF with a 100 foot pole.

Yeah, I wouldn't want to pug either....I'm shy that way. Jack used to tank the crap outa recluse before IOs, back when Belle was our healer, no issue. Then I changed my build, put a couple of IOs in and Recluse got a stealth upgrade and it got rough, then I maxed IO'd and he's not so tough (Though I still think Jack's build is kinda weak, I not sure how people are getting S/L to 45 with no toggles on but shoot after a 1.1 billion Inf build I'm kinda to brokeish to figure it out)
Widow used to be easy, taunt, hurl, Jackovision, Nem staff, and repeat. She'd lock on to tank, never close and then Caios would go in with her aura of infinate miss and kick her ass.

I haven't actually finished Bateman's new build, so yeah, Jack. Definitely Jack. Jack on the STF. Definitely Jack. /RainMan off

I have actually not run an STF yet. By the time I got Rox up to the point of being comfortable enough to run it, I could find no one willing to do it. (Other than PuGs, and...yeah...no.)
But count Rox in the mix! I just opened up for this evening, being in the middle of a giant blizzard and all. Barring that, I'm free Thursday night.

I'm good for Thursday, and Wednesday too if we want to run it more than once. Tonight's probably no good for me, but if one of you guys wants to organize one go for it.
