Well, Metro North made our first impromptu debut last night. I was playing a gig with my ska band, and one of the other bands called and cancelled because their singer was in jail for a DUI. I'm not one to condone drunk driving, but as they say in show biz..."Dem's da breaks!"
Anyhow, long story short, we stole the show, made a handful of new fans and connections, and had a lot of fun, which is the main thing.
Our first OFFICIAL debut is September 29th. We played one open mic night at this bar downtown just to bust our chops since we've both been off the stage for a few years, and the head guy asked us to come back and be featured artists. And that guy usually won't give you the time of day unless you contact him professionally (IE. via facebook wall posts.)
My point is, if anyone happens to be in the Kansas City area around September 29 and needs to know a place where they can hear some good music (we aren't the only group playing!) hit me up!
