I ask because the whole storyline is on sale on Comixology for a buck an issue. It's a good deal, but I don't normally follow Superman and have no idea how good this storyline is or if there are any books involved in it that I can or should ignore. Any DC fans out there who can help me out here?

DC fan but not a Supes fan so I can't help you. For a buck, it might be worth it to pick up a few just to see if you like it as long as this isn't a very limited offer.
Do you lurk on any comic book boards? They might be able to help.
