So in batting some ideas around with Warpy we considered it might be a good idea to link several concepts together. So to start off, and so we can get away from drama:
The Wolfepack. The Wolfepack was an idea we batted around in the old Legends, a team of Wolfetec employees using power suits to protect Wolfetec assets when Jack was busy. There were no archetype restrictions just some limited direction about what constituted Wolfe designed powered armor.
Unit 1: Typical people in black suits government shadow type. The catch is I was thinking firearm/? only. Mostly blasters (corrupter and masterminds now too?) S.H.I.E.L.D type organization.
What other ideas do we have?

Well okay, throwing this one out there...
Blaze of Glory: This is the SG Mr Sare and I came up with. The concept? Retired/former superheroes who've come back for one last "hurrah", so to speak. No archetype restrictions, just that you're a formerly retired hero (or even Silver Age villain now going straight).
So far it's just the two of us, Cap'n Crash and Martian Beauty Queen (why yes, we were inspired by the Bon Jovi song) but we're happy to open it up to anyone else who wants to join in on the concept.

Warp here, switching to the screen name I've been using on Steam for general forum stuff. Anyway, I haven't put together any really complete ideas, as I've been sort of feeling things out to see if folks are definitely into the whole idea of a network of concept SGs, and also figuring out if I want to keep playing (all signs point to yes). But here's the rough ideas I've had so far:
1) Science fiction/steampunk. Something optimistic, maybe inspired by the old pulp stories as well as modern sci fi and sci fi influenced superhero books like Iron Man and Fantastic Four. Bright and crazy, though some of that pulp darkness works too. Think Planetary, Doc Savage, the current storylines going on in FF and Iron Man, that sort of thing. Like Tony says in a recent Iron Man issue, "Let's do something crazy together. Let's save the world."
2) Horror-themed heroes a la Ghost Rider, Werewolf By Night, Son of Satan, the old Marvel Midnight Sons stuff, Marvel Zombies 4, the sadly cancelled Simon Dark, maybe a dab of Swamp Thing and Hellblazer. Nothing overly complex, just heroes who happen to be monsters or other supernatural/horror sorts of people, but still doing the right thing and fighting the good fight.
3) Another dark heroes sort of thing, but going super hardcore with it. Think Secret Six in their more heroic moments (the Battle For The Cowl tie-in issue in particular), Punisher MAX, Boondock Saints, Clint Eastwood's character in Unforgiven. I'm thinking a rogue group, maybe staking out territory in the Rogue Isles in the same way the Angels staked out territory in King's Row back in the day. Almost bordering on villainy, though obviously the characters wouldn't see it that way.
Another thing that was mentioned the other night was maybe to have a broader-themed group as sort of the hub of all these groups, something more similar to the GA in that you could put almost any character in it. I think that's a solid idea. Jack, what do you think about using the Urban Legends for that? It's an awesome name, and I think you and I are the only old Legends left in game anyway so I doubt anybody else would object.

Yeah, I'd much prefer a broader themed group like the GA. Shadewing would only really fit into the horror-themed group, and even then it could be appearance only. If I decided to bring Dreadwing over she wouldn't really be able to fit in to any of those categories. I guess I just suck with concepts

This one sounds good to me. may make one later. >_> In some ways I kinda wanna try to see how long we could get away with a Team Fortress 2 one. I want Heavy. Demoman.

Somebody has the Urban Legends name, but it hasn't moved in Influence in over a week, I'm thinking about posting in the forum to see if I can free it up. That said, I was thinking of trying to register The Urban Legends or The original Urban Legends. But yeah a broad cover group is an good idea
I love the steampunk idea, in fact I'm saving my hero side duel pistols/devices blaster slot for a Rocketeer clone as part of that group.
The supernatural group has me wanting to build a demon MM and switch em.

well for the steampunkish group, Schrodi (or anti schrodi) would be a definite fit ^.^ I do have an older char on freedom for the blaze of glory idea that I could take advantage of the free transfers to get, or just re roll him.

Well, I think my empath would fit in well with the science fiction/steampunk group, and come on, you know I could come up with a horror-themed character As for a more general group for people - right now I've got a bunch of alts I and Mr Sare pulled from the GA sitting in a temporary supergroup. At least some of them will need a more general home, and sadly they can't stay in the one I made at the moment as I called it The Dogwelders (it was going to be The Defenestrators but Mr Sare won the coin toss). I'm resisting the urge to say we call it Section 8, though.

Section 8 would be a great name for a bunch of misfits, like Klinger from MASH

The problem is, Section 8 is kind of already taken (it's also where I got the names Dogwelder and Defenestrator from)

just for the record I have "Legion of the Dammed" hero side with Mariel.... I think its a good name. and Caios has a good name Idea.
and yes someone might point out the 40k reference but I was thinking when I made the name of fallen heroes trying to make good, or villains trying to make good ... just an Idea.

Panda would probably do well in the vigilante/rogue group. Personality-wise, she's been leaning more toward Vig/Rogue anyway for awhile now, doing Stuff For Crimson She Can't Talk About.
Stern Impact, probably the sci/steampunk group, given her origins and how ginormous her brain is.
Siberian Inferno and Delta Rae would likely end up in the general group, as would Mr. Conspiracy if there's no specific group for the nutbars.

Well the idea I had is somewhat a darker evolution of the Guardian Angels. The name I was toying around with was Blood Angels. Again this is not meant as a 40K reference. (If I wanted to do that I'd totally go with Space Wolves instead.) I just rather like the imagery of an Angel covered in the blood of evil men, looking no worse for ware even after walking through a warzone, dark red blood still dripping from her otherwise perfectly white feathery wings.
As a supergroup the concept would be very open, primarily focused on having an all Vigilante / Rogue group. Basically no more nice guys in these heroes. These are the people who are purposefully doing horrible things, committing all sorts of crimes, but all with the singular purpose of taking out bad guys. Usually by killing them. But they should be all dark and gloomy about it either. I'd prefer to see a bit more of a Leverage vibe, for those who've seen that show, only less con job more violence. A lot of people would consider them major bad guys.
Basically these are the guys that make the old Guardian Angels seem like Golden Age superheroes.
Yeah, this would be exactly the place where Caios would end up.
p.s. mind you none of this matters if I can't actually get Caios back in the first place.

I'll see if the Blood Angels name is free; I doubt it, but you never know. Also, Mariel's group Legion of the Damned sounds good to me for the horror-ish group, though the more I think about it the more I wonder if maybe it'd make more sense to just put those sorts of characters into the Blood Angels or whatever we wind up calling it. I dunno, I just woke up and I'm not all here yet. We should also get the general group started soon; I'm thinking we should all play in that for a while to build up prestige so we can get a functional base with teleporters to every zone, then branch out into the splinter groups once we've done that. Sound like a solid plan? Also, any name ideas in case Jack can't get Urban Legends back?

I got the name The Blood Angels; Blood Angels was taken, but they appear to be inactive by their prestige count. If it turns out they are active, we should consider using a different name so as not to create confusion and shit on an established group. I don't think that'll happen, though. Anyway, Caios and I have story ideas for making The Blood Angels the initial group, and some RP story reasons for the collapse of the GA, but we're still in the brainstorm phase of things. More news as it comes, and suggestions and constructive criticisms are welcome.
