This is Cracker, our new cat. As you can see from the picture, here she is auditioning for the role of Basement Cat. Seriously though, she's an absolute little sweetheart who thinks humans are there solely for feeding her, petting her and playing with her.
We got her yesterday, from a lady who had 20+ cats in her house (and oh, I only partly want to be her when I grow up), the vast majority of them cats she had rescued off the streets. Of course, when you have 20+ cats in a house it can get a bit difficult to cope, and so she was working with the local Cats Protection to find new homes for some of them. Cracker pretty much attached herself to me within five minutes of me getting there, and refused to leave my side the whole time, even trying to push some of the other cats away when they came over to me for petting.
She's met Lily the flumpcat and was happy to see another cat, while Lily is a little afraid of this new cat in her house, in case she's here to steal all the food and petting and Lily's spot on my bed. Hopefully they'll be able to come to an agreement soon and then the two of them can take turns leaping up onto the desk in the middle of L4D, causing me to break out that old macro, "BRB cat aggro."
