10 and 6 years later, respectively, and these two games are still perhaps the best I've ever played.
I played the re-release of Shadow of the Colossus a little last night, and killed the first two colossi for the first time in years. I barely know how to describe it, except that these games, even after all these years, make me feel like no other games ever made.
The Last Guardian can't come soon enough. But in the meantime, if you have a PS3, there is no excuse not to have this collection.
The games are unchanged from their original versions. No new art assets, no new music, no new sounds, controls, or anything. All they did was increase the resolution, make them widescreen, increase the sound quality, and make both games run at a perfectly steady 30 frames per second. I wouldn't have it any other way. Even with the old low polygon models and low texture resolution, these two games look absolutely spectacular. It's a testament to how fantastic both these games were, and still are.
These are the definitive versions of both games, because everything that was important about them has not changed.
