Well it's official. SWTOR is in full launch now and everyone is priming their lightsabers and polishing their blasters.
The Guardian Angels are alive on the Ebon Hawke now and we're even getting a few recruits out of some random RP last night. Pretty soon here we will want to start thinking about what to do next with Guild Activities and recruitment.
We should also consider the matter of guild leadership. Nothing is set is stone yet if anyone's interested. I'm certainly fine with keeping the Guild Leader position right now. Anyone who wants to be an officer is certain welcome to step up as well.
The biggest goal for now of course is having fun.
May the Force be with you.

I was just thinking about this, actually. I'm currently nestled in Beregran Coloney, but I was thinking of making Pinny over there, as well. How's the class distribution looking so far?

Well much as I'd like to be playing right now I don't know if I'll be able to even get hold of the game before... late January, maybe (unless there's a SWTOR-shaped present under the tree), but if any of the recruits you're picking up want to join the board here, just poke me somehow (I promise I'll start remembering to turn Steam on, honest!) and I'll approve their memberships quick-like.
Beyond that I'd like you all to know that no Bothans died to deliver this forum post.

I've got one of those cool 'Administrator' titles by my name here too, so I could get our new people approved if I can figure out how to do it.

Not really interested in wearing the leader hat right now, depending on whether I stick with it or not I might take an officer role. I caved and just bought it, I hated the starter zone I saw on the beta weekend but I just watched a couple videos of higher level content and it looked pretty promising. Here's hoping I like it as much as you guys do.

Eh, if someone wants to tip me an officer hat, I'd be willing to wear it. I'm more or less alternating between servers on a daily basis - keeps things from going stale.
Though honestly, I don't expect that to happen any time soon. I've been playing for about a week now, and I am already considering dropping my COH account to freeplay just to avoid negative impact to budget. Got enough vet rewards that it shouldn't affect me much.

That's how I am with CoH now - I'm a premium nub, but because of my vet rewards, the only things I DON'T have are incarnate stuff, and any new things they release on the store.

I thought those were sub-only no matter what level vet rewards you had.

Level 7 and above get free access to IOs whether subscribed or not. You can buy a monthly liscence as well.

Ok, now I'm confused, probably the eggnog. Sith pvp guild Bergan Colony or what ? I'm pretty smitten (for me) with this thing, but don't have to make the CoH decision until next October thank god.

At some point in the next few days, once everyone has recovered from Life Day/Christmas/Hannukah et al, we should maybe think about trying to arrange some sort of get-together on the server, just for socialising and (if needed) getting alts in the guild and the like (since my early Christmas present/reward for nursing Mr Sare through a winter vomiting bug has gotten me in the game at last). Anything that comes along with that - random RP, recruitment, trashing a cantina - would just be icing on the cake. Re: officer positions - I'm happy to help out with stuff whenever I can, but what with my highly unreliable schedule I probably shouldn't be trusted with any sort of official officer badge or the like right now. I can't accurately predict when I'm going to be around on any particular day (if at all) so having people rely on me for stuff might well turn out messy (again )

We've already had a few RP get togethers, generally random which seem to work best so long as people who are online are willing to make the effort to come by. Scheduling some more official get togethers would also be nice so people can plan ahead to show up. We're also going to want to nail down what the Star Wars version of the Angels is gong to be like. The last idea we were discussing was a company of misfits that the Republic wants to make use of but don't work well anywhere else. Kind of like the A-Team but sanctioned by the Republic, which allows for any kind of character to work, from the militaristic trooper to the wild smuggler. Everything is up in the air for the moment so feel free to suggest further ideas. I don't mind keeping the guild leader position if people feel more comfortable without the responsibility. It's common for Jedi to lead republic forces in war, after all.

...which leads me to a quick plea: can someone invite me to the guild if they see me online, please? I look for you all when I'm online but I never seem to be able to find you; whether that's timing or some flaw within the search system I don't know, but I'm all alone and guildless out there and it's scary...
(Names of my characters are in the alts thread, but just for efficiency - Sareini and Ianis)

Hello folks, Merry Chanukah, Happy Christmas and may the Force be with you this News Year.
I am sitting here eating breakfast and thinking about all of this.
1. the choice of saying the "A-Team" is not a good comparison The "A-Team" where a group of criminal former military running around helping people in need. My Character would have to kill such people.
2. Our guild-leader is a High level Jedi. it is the mandate of the Jedi order and the Republic Constitution during time of need and distress and upon approval from both the Jedi council and the Republic Senate A Jedi Knight is conveyed the rank of General in the Republic Army. In some cases the Jedi Council doesn't even need to approve of the Jedi joining the Republic Army for such rank to be given.
3. Jedi masters can form units of special forces which can include non-military personnel.
4. No matter what your chosen morality is you do fight for the Republic.
so with these bullet points I think we should form the GA based on Special Forces which operate independently for great lengths of time. if you look at U.S. Special Forces you will see that it is common for units to be formed which go deep in to native lands and live independent from the conventional forces. When I was in the Military I was in such a unit for a time, 1st Force Recon. I think doing a similar structure under Caios would give the Flexibility for RP and allow those of us playing Hard Core military room to work. My character Rachel is by the books Military. where as some of my other characters are free spirits who follow no one, the only way they could all work together is if Caios pulled together a special Operations unit which contained Military, Jedi, and rogue pirates (smugglers). Since Caios is both a Hard ass and a Free spirit she could organize such a unit.

As long as I get paid. It's not uncommon for Special Forces to go native, though actual civillian operaters are more the perview of the intellegence community, which in the ST universe makes perfect sense for a Jedi to lead.
