I have some sad news on the City of Heroes player side of things. Last evening, it was found out Tre Chipman, the player of City of Heroes phenomenon Ascendant, had passed away. His best friend posted this to his Facebook page:
"Tre shed his mortal coil at 6:25 today. I had my hand on him when he passed. He was my best friend and I'll miss him terribly. I had a long talk with him alone in the room about a half hour before he passed. His parents were concerned he may be harboring feelings of regret or unfinished thoughts. I told him we would take care of everything and to let go and rest, all would be well. He succumbed to his illness about 15 minutes later. There's no set date for the memorial service yet. It will be at Holy Cross Episcopal Church in Pensacola. That' s the only definite thing so far. I will post more info when his parents give me the go-ahead."
He's one of the people that made Virtue into the community it was and still is today and will be greatly missed. I always loved seeing "Ascendant who? You have the wrong number" at the trams.

When I mentioned this last night, I got a lot of "Ascendant who?" responses. This was Ascendant:
VirtueVerse
He was most known for his series of tram station skits where he'd stand there, talking on the phone and arguing with a caller about things such as trying to sue the Council for copyright infringement of the name "Ascendant," and the string of failed ventures such as "Ascendant-O's. The devs found his skits hilarious enough they worked them into the game, with random tram station NPCs responding to calls from or for Ascendant, as well as having him appear in Issue 19 of the City of Heroes comic book.
Shamelessly copy and pasted from another group I'm part of.
