So after finishing up the Posi TF with Warp and others, I started to think about how it would be a good idea to run various task/strike forces with each other every so often. Perhaps something like every Saturday/Sunday, as not to overlap our Monday Night playtimes?
The original idea was to run all the TFs after Positron in order to gain the Task Force Commander accolade with the team that we finished Posi with, but decided that was a bit too constricted, so obviously the best thing to do is to open it to everyone, regardless of characters.
The main purpose of this I was thinking was to get our non core GA characters integrated with our RP stories and stuff; give us all more ideas for stories for these characters. Get them acquainted with all the old GA characters and with each other, that sort of thing.
So far I don't have any set times or set TFs to run...Time wise I was thinking probably around 6PM EST give or take a few hours. I'm not really good with time dates because I know I'm available pretty much all day during the weekends like the no life I am, but I'm not sure what everyone else's schedules look like.
I'm not thinking of any specific TFs on any specific dates, but I was thinking just wing it. Once everyone gets in we just decide then and there what to run: that way everyone gets a say in what to do.
This is all just a very rough outline, but that's because I want everyone's opinion on dates, times, any planning, etc etc.

6pm isn't bad for us ESTers, for me personally starting a hair earlier might be cool for those weekends when I actually go out and do stuff. What say we shoot for a 5pm EST Synapse this Saturday? Bobby mentioned wanting to do Posi 2 as well, maybe if we still have people for it we could run that afterwards, or maybe Sunday if not.

With the arrival of Issue 19 and the Alpha Slot, that gives us all the more reason to run Task Forces!
After doing the mission from Mender Ramiel and unlocking your potential as an incarnate, you may be wondering to yourselves: Huh, I have this incarnate slot, but in order to make these enhancements, I need certain salvage...Where can I find those?
Well look no further! The required salvage can be gathered from both Task/Strike forces AND level 50+ enemy drops! That's right: Running task forces at level 50 is now both fun AND profitable! You'll take care of two birds with one stone; getting both salvage needed AND incarnate shards which you can combine to make more salvage!
"But Pinny!" I hear you say, "Being an Incarnate doesn't fit my character concept!" Well as it turns out, you don't -NEED- to be an incarnate in order to use the alpha slot? Now now, before you cry out in anguish for me breaking the lore of the game, let's take a look at what's going on:
Virtue, as we all know and (sometimes) love, is the unofficial RP server in CoX. What this means is that although we have to run a story arc that tries to throw the fact that we're incarnates in our faces at point blank mach one speeds, that doesn't mean we HAVE to go along with it! There are 4 different types of alpha enhancements, all of which give different main bonuses. What this means is that you can roleplay around becoming an incarnate by saying your suit got an upgrade, or you continued to train your body past it's limits, unlocking secrets previously unknown.
If, however, you're fine with your character being an incarnate concept wise, then we have no problems!
TF/SF nights are Saturday and Monday around 6-10PM EST. Show up and let's show these people what we're made of!
Those times not work for you? Post here and suggest alternatives! Want more days of the week to run TFs? No problem! Just log in whenever you find the free time to do so, and if there are enough people on, propose a TF run! There is nothing constricting about this program, as it's all flexible!
The current TF/SFs that give out salvage are:
Lady Gray Statesman/Lord Recluse Imperious Cathedral of Pain (Lets not do this one...Please? It's painful) Purchased with 150 vanguard merits (Double points for Lady Gray!) Reichsman And for those of you who enjoy the more competitive aspect of play...PVP against other level 50 players!
Call within the next 15 minutes and I'll DOUBLE your offer! Yes, that's TWO TF/SFs for the price of one! Double the salvage! Double the Incarnate! Double the fun! Call 1-800-PWR4U!
(Fine Print: Offer not available in certain parts of the world. Certain restrictions apply. Please consult your doctor before taking part in TF night, as side effects include: Dizzyness, Paranoia, Sleep Deprivation and Insanity)

Sadly the Cathedral of Pain is going to be required for some people to make the alpha slot enhancements they want for their characters. =\ For now, we can put it off while we're all trying to make our first Common Alpha slot enhancement, but once we start looking to upgrade to Uncommon, no dice, some people are going to have to find a way to run it.
LGTF should probably be our first target, since you're really getting double the salvage out of it.

Also remember that there are 2 brand new TFs we haven't even run yet! However, both of these TFs are pretty much unbeatable unless you have something in your Alpha slot, so we'll have to hit them once we're all slotted up. From the patch notes:

Actually, the things you craft with the shards are the exact same things you get from running TFs/Trials, so none of them are actually "required"; you can just fill in the blanks with materials crafted from shards (The more you need to craft though, the longer it takes; it takes 4 shards to craft a common, and 8 shards + a common to craft an uncommon). That said I would like to do the CoP at some point, just to have done it . We'd probably need to piggyback on someone else's run though; I don't think we could field the required 24 people.

Thankfully, you can combine 4 incarnate shards into any salvage of your choice, meaning that if you don't like the way the CoP works, you just need to get a handful of shards and put them together using super glue!
